policy
G.L.O.W. is founded in Milan, with the aim of creating an international network of research galleries, running on contemporary art.
The network's ambition is to promote one's own artists, conferring them and to related galleries a major place on contemporary art scene worldwide.
Contemporary art field is affected, as all other business fields, by current economical and financial trends. Elements of complexity and uncertainty beside the managing of decisions and marketing relations are visible also in this field.
Accentuated by the belonging of art on one side to the economy of luxury products, on the other to the one of culture, theses elements return to professionals the clear conscience to operate inside a liquid society (Z. Bauman), in other words: a multiform, elusive society in continuous redefinition.
Therefore, the implementation of a constant process of understanding and updating the reality one interacts with is particularly needed. This would be a process necessary to endow with the adequate knowledge and the capability to operate in the art field innovating, promoting risk-taking programs, and affording research.
According to this situation, G.L.O.W. presents itself as the right platform for networking, with the aim of being efficient in the continuous feedback of information and ideas, serving as a panel of confrontation between galleries' managers and as a valid structure of active collaboration...
In a short time glowplaform.org will offer you and your gallery this opportunuty.

G.L.O.W. is a global network of research galleries; our intent is to support the new tendencies of Contemporary Art, presenting the best artists and their representative galleries within the international art community. It also has, within its workforce, an international Curatorial Committee that acts as a partner with unrepresented artists and ensures them the opportunity for exhibiting within the association program and the network of associated galleries.
The Association aims to provide the associated galleries with an international platform meant to offer broaden visibility to their best artists worldwide.
Every associated gallery will be able to exhibit and to share artists in collaboration with the other associated members. Once a year G.L.O.W. will organize a touring group show. This show will be hosted in one of the associated galleries' spaces that applied to join this group show.
In order to guarantee the maximum level of the show, the artists have to be selected by a commission established by all the associated galleries' owners and headed by the administrators and curators of G.L.O.W
G.L.O.W. intends to take part to international art fairs circuit as a network of research.
The associated galleries that would like to participate to a scheduled art fair, can submit their request to the Association. The Curatorial Committee in accordance with the members' records will select the fairs G.L.O.W. will take part.
The exhibition stand will be unique and wide. An alternative venue, differing from the classical one-gallery stand, can be the right meeting point for the art dealers and a good opportunity for business and connections' development.
G.L.O.W. is on the internet at the website address: www.glowplatform.org. This web platform is divided in two sections:
-
Section 1: This is an open access area; here it is possible to find all information about the association's program, as well as the links to the galleries web sites. In addition, an up-to-date calendar is available with openings and events announced by every associated gallery, including press releases and any additional information licensed to download.
-
Section 2: This is a restricted access area (password required). It is the real core of the network, where the associated galleries can share information with the other member within the network.
This part also contains:
1. News, announcements, calls for submission and application forms related to the Association's program
2. Art Fairs proposals
3. An on-line catalogue of the artists of the associated galleries with certified access to direct communication with their representatives.
4. Presentation and invitations to exhibition projects promoted by the Curatorial Committee.
5. Discussion Forum
